Event highlights
This Town Hall Meeting is a follow-up to WEDU’s Florida’s Kids and Alcohol Town Hall Meeting in March 2006 which addressed the issues concerning underage and binge drinking for our state. The topic is a peer-to-peer discussion about underage drinking: more teenagers die from alcohol than from all the other drugs combined. The panel is made up of a growing number of students who actively promote abstinence from alcohol. The panelists include two high school students from Hillsborough County, two high school students from Pinellas County, one college student from Hillsborough County and one college student from Pinellas County.

This program promises to educate students and parents with a frank discussion about how kids are obtaining alcohol and why it is unhealthy, illegal and un-cool to get drunk. The LiveFree! Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Pinellas County and Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance and Tampa Alcohol Coalition are two coalitions assisting WEDU-TV with sponsoring this televised event.

Sponsored by: Live Free! Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Pinellas County and Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance (HCADA)
