Event highlights
A reception and exhibition of original art, poetry, video, books, titled We pass each other on the street. Showcase was created when students of UCSD interviewed individuals in recovery from drug addiction who are members of the Prop 36 Alumni Association. Prop 36 is California’s treatment instead of incarceration law. These oral histories of recovery were turned into works of art. A premiere viewing of a clip from the new HBO documentary ADDICTION will be shown, and a press conference will be held prior to the exhibit to expand the reach of the message of recovery.
