How can I get involved in my community?
Host or attend a house party to view and discuss HBO's ADDICTION Project at your home or organization. Go to a town meeting where the main documentary will be screened and discussed. Get DVDs of the 14-part series for your prevention, treatment, or recovery program. And don't forget to sign up for email updates, or to tell your friends.

When was the series broadcast?
The 14-part series aired in March on multiple HBO channels.

How do I get a DVD of the show?
Retail copies of the 90-minute documentary and 13 companion films are available at HBO.com and participating retailers, or for rental at participating outlets. The retail price of the 4-DVD set is $24.98. Click here for more information.

Can I get a free DVD for use in my program?
There is no free distribution program at this time. However, the low cost of the retail DVD set is meant to make the DVDs widely accessible to community groups. 

Is ADDICTION appropriate for children? What is the show's rating?
The centerpiece documentary is rated TV-14. The supplementary titles have not been rated.

What study guides or other materials are available?
Our viewer's guide (PDF, 287k) is perfect for group discussion of the major themes in the ADDICTION project. We've also created a town hall event planner (PDF, 2.4 MB) for those who want to organize a public event. Click here to order print copies.

Are the films available in Spanish?
Yes. All 14 films have a Spanish language track for both the broadcast and DVD versions. For the broadcast on HBO, HBO2 and HBO Signature, the Spanish language track will be on a SAP (Separate Audio Program). On HBO Latino, there will also be Spanish closed captions.  The retail DVD copies (see above) have a Spanish language option.

No, AddictionAction.org is a project of an independent national outreach partnership working to promote ADDICTION and help communities maximize the impact of the series. We coordinate closely with HBO in order to present the most current information. HBO's project website is hbo.com/addiction.
